Dance Like A Man
a man’s world, a woman’s art, their Shared sacrifice
In this acclaimed play first performed in 1989, two aging Bharatanatyam dancers seek to shape the dancing career of their talented daughter while also re-living their youth, their struggles, and the tragedies in their past. After countless performances all over the world, the play is approaching its 700th show milestone. It was adapted into a 2004 film, directed by Pamela Rooks, that won the National Film award.
